A delicious and comforting casserole combining the flavors of French onion soup with tender chicken and orzo pasta.

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until they are caramelized.
  3. In a large bowl, combine orzo, shredded chicken, turkey bacon, caramelized onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add beef broth and mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with shredded Swiss cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, add a cup of heavy cream before baking.
  • Feel free to substitute the chicken with leftover turkey.
